UE Ergonomic Office Chairs Australia

UE ergonomic chairs — the breathable FLOW mesh series and supportive ACT range — built for long days at the desk. Stocked locally in Australia; sit-test them at our Sydney and Melbourne showrooms, with delivery across Australia and New Zealand.

4 products

UE is the quiet brand in our range: a chair manufacturer whose Flow and Act series sit between Sihoo and Herman Miller on price, with a dual-back design and floating lumbar support that is rare on chairs under $1,000. We stock four UE chairs — the FLOW 530 Pro, FLOW 550, FLOW 660 Air and ACT 280 Pro — all held in Australian stock, delivered Australia-wide, backed by Aussie Chair's local warranty support, and available to sit-test in Sydney and Melbourne.

What makes a UE chair different

Three things. First, the dual-back design: the backrest is split into an upper panel and a lower lumbar section that move independently, so the lumbar stays in contact with your lower back while the upper panel follows your shoulders — the same principle as the LiberNovo and the Sihoo S100, at a different price point. Second, floating lumbar support: on the FLOW 530 Pro it is a 3D suspension lumbar you set once; on the FLOW 550 it is self-adaptive and follows your posture as you move. Third, latex seat cushions — standard on the 530 Pro and an option on the 550 — which are the middle ground for people who find full mesh too firm and foam too hot. The FLOW 550 adds 4D wire-control armrests that adjust from fingertip controls on the pad rather than levers underneath.

Which UE chair suits you

  • FLOW 530 Pro — the entry to the range and the one for taller sitters. A generous 49.5 cm wide seat and backrest, seat height 47–56.5 cm, 3D suspension lumbar, latex seat cushion, 3D latex headrest, 4D arms, seat-back synchro tilt, Class 4 gas lift and a polished aluminium five-star base. Black or Grey. That 47 cm minimum seat height is tall: it suits people from about 170 cm, and standing-height or deep desks.
  • FLOW 550 — the pick for people who want the chair to do the adjusting. Self-adaptive floating lumbar, height-adjustable dual back, 3D headrest, 4D wire-control arms, seat height 46.5–54.5 cm, aluminium base with 60 mm silent castors. Choose the full-mesh seat with seat-depth adjustment, or the Premium Cushion seat with a latex core. Black or Grey.
  • FLOW 660 Air — the top of the Flow series as we stock it, built for full working days, in Grey or Black. The differences from the 550 are in the mechanism feel and finish more than the spec sheet, which is why it is worth sitting in both.
  • ACT 280 Pro — UE's Act series in Grey: a straightforward, fully adjustable ergonomic chair for long sitting, for the home office or a full-time desk.

Mesh seat or latex cushion

Full mesh moves air and spreads load evenly; it suits warm rooms and people who run hot. Latex is denser and more resilient than ordinary foam, holds its shape for years, and gives a softer, more anchored sit without the heat build-up of memory foam. If you have found mesh seats too firm on the sit bones after a few hours, the 530 Pro's latex seat or the 550's Premium Cushion option is the answer; if you want the coolest possible chair, the 550 in full mesh is the one, and it is the only UE here with seat-depth adjustment.

UE against Sihoo and Herman Miller

Against a Sihoo M57 or M57 Pro, a UE FLOW 530 Pro costs more and gives you the dual-back structure, a latex seat and a wider frame; the Sihoo gives you a lower seat height (from 42 cm) that suits shorter sitters, and a 150 kg rating. Against a Herman Miller Aeron or Embody, the UE FLOW 550 is roughly half the price with comparable adjustability, while the Herman Miller buys a 12-year warranty ecosystem and a chair routinely still in service after fifteen years. UE is the sensible middle: more chair than a budget mesh seat, without the premium of a design-icon badge.

Fit, delivery and support

Both FLOW chairs run tall seats — minimum 46.5 cm on the 550 and 47 cm on the 530 Pro — so sitters under about 165 cm should sit-test, or look at the seat-depth-adjustable 550 in mesh, a Sihoo V1, or an Aeron Size A. All UE chairs are in Australian stock and delivered Australia-wide; warranty and parts are handled through Aussie Chair. Sit in the FLOW 530 Pro, FLOW 550 and FLOW 660 Air side by side at our Sydney (South Granville) or Melbourne (Nunawading) showroom, or compare them with every other brand we stock on the full ergonomic chair range page.

Frequently asked questions

What is a UE ergonomic chair, and how does it compare to Sihoo?

UE is a chair manufacturer whose Flow and Act series sit between Sihoo and Herman Miller on price. The signature features are a dual-back design - an upper panel and a lower lumbar section that move independently - and floating lumbar support, plus latex seat cushions on some models. Compared with a Sihoo M57 or M57 Pro, a UE FLOW chair costs more and gives you that split back, a latex seat option and a wider frame; the Sihoo gives you a lower seat height that suits shorter sitters and a 150 kg rating.

Which UE chair is best for a tall person?

The FLOW 530 Pro. Its seat height runs from 47 to 56.5 cm and the seat and backrest are 49.5 cm wide, so it suits people from about 170 cm and anyone working at a standing-height or deep desk. The FLOW 550 runs 46.5 to 54.5 cm and is the better fit for people around 165 to 185 cm, particularly in the full-mesh version with seat-depth adjustment.

Should I choose the UE mesh seat or the latex cushion seat?

Choose full mesh if you run hot or want the coolest chair - on the FLOW 550 the mesh seat also has seat-depth adjustment. Choose latex if you have found mesh too firm on the sit bones after a few hours: latex is denser and more resilient than ordinary foam, holds its shape for years and does not trap heat the way memory foam does. The FLOW 530 Pro comes with a latex seat as standard; the FLOW 550 offers it as the Premium Cushion option.

What is the difference between the UE FLOW 530 Pro and the FLOW 550?

The FLOW 530 Pro has a 3D suspension lumbar that you set once, a latex seat cushion, a 3D latex headrest, standard 4D arms and a taller 47 to 56.5 cm seat. The FLOW 550 upgrades to a self-adaptive floating lumbar that follows your posture without adjustment, 4D wire-control arms adjusted from fingertip controls, a 46.5 to 54.5 cm seat, and a choice of full-mesh seat with depth adjustment or a Premium Cushion latex seat. Pick the 530 Pro for a tall, cushioned, set-and-forget sit; pick the 550 if you move around a lot or want seat-depth adjustment.

Can I try UE chairs before buying in Australia?

Yes. The UE FLOW 530 Pro, FLOW 550 and FLOW 660 Air are held for sit-testing at our Sydney showroom (11/46-50 Wellington Rd, South Granville NSW 2142) and our Melbourne showroom (Shop 1A/280 Whitehorse Rd, Nunawading VIC 3131), alongside the Sihoo, LiberNovo and Herman Miller ranges so you can compare across brands in one visit. All UE chairs are in Australian stock and delivered Australia-wide.

What warranty and support come with a UE chair from Aussie Chair?

UE chairs bought from Aussie Chair are backed by our local warranty support: claims and replacement parts are handled through us in Australia rather than through an overseas seller, and Australian Consumer Law guarantees apply on top of the manufacturer warranty with no fixed expiry. The full warranty terms are on our Warranty page.
