What the warranty covers

Defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, for the length of the warranty term. That includes the tilt mechanism, gas lift, arms, back and seat suspension, frame, base and casters. If a covered part fails, we repair or replace it. Most repairs use parts we keep in stock in Australia, so there is no waiting on an overseas shipment.

Normal use includes full-time office or gaming use — a chair sat in eight hours a day, five days a week, is exactly what these chairs are built for. Not covered: normal wear and fading, and damage caused by misuse, accident or modification.

How to make a claim

1. Email info@aussiechair.com.au with your order number, a short description of the fault, and a photo or video.
2. We assess it and come back to you with the next step — no forms, no third-party call centre.
3. Most faults are fixed with a replacement part shipped from our Australian stock, with fitting instructions. If you would rather not do it yourself, bring the chair to our Sydney or Melbourne showroom and we will do it there.

If the carton or chair arrives damaged in transit, tell us as soon as it lands. Transit damage is handled straight away, separately from the warranty.

Aeron: is the 12-year upgrade worth it?

The Aeron ships with a 1-year warranty as standard. The 12-Year Warranty Upgrade costs $220 and applies to the chair in the same order, so tick it next to Add to cart on the Aeron page. Spread over 12 years that is a little over $18 a year. For a chair that will be your main seat every working day, we recommend it. For a spare-room or occasional-use chair, the standard warranty may be all you need.

Who do I contact for a warranty claim?

Aussie Chair. Warranty on every Herman Miller chair we sell is handled by us in Australia, so you deal with one local team from the first email to the fix.

How long is the Herman Miller Aeron warranty?

One year as standard. Adding the 12-Year Warranty Upgrade ($220) to the same order extends it to 12 years, in line with Embody and Embody Gaming.

How long is the Embody Gaming warranty?

Twelve years as standard, with no upgrade needed. The same applies to the Embody task chair.

Can I add the Aeron 12-year upgrade after I have bought the chair?

The upgrade applies to the chair in the same order, so add it at checkout. If you have just placed an order and missed it, contact us before the chair ships.

Does fitting an Atlas headrest void the warranty?

No. The Atlas headrests we sell for the Aeron and Embody Gaming clamp on without drilling or adhesive and do not affect the chair warranty when fitted as instructed. The headrest carries its own 3-year warranty.

Where are repairs done?

In Australia. Most are handled with a replacement part shipped from our local stock; otherwise at our Sydney (South Granville) or Melbourne (Nunawading) showroom.
