Product details
The Herman Miller Embody Gaming Chair is the Embody re-engineered with Logitech G for people who sit for long, continuous stretches. It is the chair searched for as the Herman Miller x Logitech G Embody, the Logitech G Embody, the Herman Miller Logitech chair or simply the Herman Miller gaming chair — there is one such chair, and this is it. It suits gamers, streamers, traders, editors and anyone who holds a fixed forward posture for four or more hours at a time rather than moving between meetings.
- Pixelated support back — rows of independent pixels on a flexible spine, so support follows you as you lean into the screen
- Copper-infused cooling foam layer in the seat, over the standard four-layer suspension seat — softer and cooler than the office Embody
- Backfit adjustment, adjustable seat depth, tilt limiter and height- and width-adjustable arms
- Sync fabric in five gaming colourways: Black & White, Black & Cyan, Amethyst & White, Galaxy & White, Nightfall & Nova
Warranty: the Embody Gaming Chair carries a 12-year warranty as standard. Every chair we sell is genuine and brand new, and the warranty is handled by Aussie Chair here in Australia — see our Herman Miller warranty page for full terms and the claims process.
In stock and delivered across Australia and New Zealand. The Embody Gaming Chair is one of the few chairs where sitting in it decides the purchase — the seat feel divides people and no photograph settles it. Try it at our Sydney (South Granville) or Melbourne (Nunawading) showroom.
What Logitech G actually changed
Underneath the upholstery this is a genuine Embody, which is what separates it from most seating sold as gaming chairs. The back is a pixelated support system: rows of independent pixels carried on a flexible spine and rib structure, each moving on its own as you shift. Rather than a few pressure points where a moulded shell meets your back, load spreads across the whole matrix. That matters most in a long session, because the support follows you when you lean forward into a screen — the posture a bucket-seat racing chair actively fights. Backfit sets the backrest curve to your own spine, and the narrow back leaves your shoulders and arms free to move.
What Logitech G changed is narrower than the marketing suggests. The seat gains an extra layer of copper-infused cooling foam above the standard suspension seat, which makes it softer underneath you and helps shed the heat that builds up over a long sit. The upholstery is Sync fabric (100% polyester) in gaming colourways instead of the fabrics offered on the office chair. The frame, the pixelated back, Backfit, the tilt and the arm adjustment are the same on both chairs.
Embody Gaming vs the office Embody
| Embody Gaming | Embody (office) | |
|---|---|---|
| Seat | Four-layer suspension + copper-infused cooling foam; softer, cooler | Four-layer suspension; firmer |
| Fabric | Sync, gaming colourways | R or S fabric, office colours |
| Back, Backfit, tilt, arms | Identical | |
| Warranty | 12 years, handled by Aussie Chair in Australia | |
The honest guidance: take the Gaming Embody for the softer, cooler seat and the colours; take the standard Embody if you prefer a firmer seat and a plainer finish for an office. Ergonomically they are the same chair. If you are also weighing the Aeron, our Aeron vs Embody guide covers the mesh-versus-padded question in detail.
Fit and dimensions
One size, with a wide adjustment range — most adults from roughly 155 to 195 cm fit it. Herman Miller's published figures:
| Measurement | Value |
|---|---|
| Seat height | 40.6–52.1 cm |
| Seat depth (adjustable) | 38.1–45.7 cm |
| Overall size | 114.3 cm high, 74.9 cm wide, 73.7 cm deep |
| Weight capacity | 136 kg |
| Chair weight | approx. 23.5 kg |
| Frame and base | Die-cast aluminium frame and five-star base; arm height and width adjustable |
Set the seat depth so you have two or three fingers of clearance between the front edge and the back of your knee. The seat extends forward as you recline, so your thighs stay supported in a laid-back gaming posture.
Colourways
- Black & White — black Sync fabric; the most understated of the five.
- Black & Cyan — the original Logitech G colourway, black fabric with cyan detailing on the back.
- Amethyst & White — soft purple fabric on the white frame.
- Galaxy & White — deep green-teal fabric on the white frame.
- Nightfall & Nova — purple-on-black, the darkest of the five.
Stock of the limited colourways comes and goes; the product selector above shows what is in stock today, and both showrooms keep several colourways on the floor.
Headrest and accessories
The chair ships without a headrest. The Atlas headrest for the Embody Gaming Chair, which we also stock, is the purpose-built answer: it bolts on with no drilling, is upholstered in the same heathered Sync fabric as the chair, adjusts 10.2–34.3 cm above the frame and 7.6–20.3 cm in depth, and fitting it does not affect the chair warranty. Add it if you game or stream reclined; skip it if you sit upright and forward, where a headrest mostly gets in the way. On timber, tile or polished concrete floors, swap the standard casters for our hard floor casters.
Stock and delivery
Current pricing for the Embody Gaming Chair is shown above on this page and depends on colourway. It ships fully assembled in the Herman Miller carton — fit the casters and sit down. Delivery is Australia-wide and to New Zealand, with same-day pickup from both showrooms for colourways on the floor.
FAQ
Is this the genuine Herman Miller x Logitech G Embody?
Yes. Every chair we sell is the genuine Herman Miller Embody Gaming Chair, brand new and sealed in its original packaging. You can sit in the same stock at our Sydney and Melbourne showrooms.
What is the Embody Gaming Chair warranty in Australia?
Twelve years as standard. The warranty is handled by Aussie Chair here in Australia with parts held locally — full terms are on our Herman Miller warranty page.
Is the Embody Gaming Chair better than the regular Embody?
Ergonomically they are the same chair. The Gaming version has a softer, cooler seat thanks to the copper-infused foam layer and comes in gaming colourways; the office Embody has a firmer seat and plainer finishes. Choose by seat feel and look, not by support.
Does the Embody Gaming Chair come with a headrest?
No. The matching Atlas headrest is sold separately, clamps on without drilling and does not affect the warranty.
Does it come assembled?
Yes. It ships fully assembled; you only fit the five casters.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. The Embody Gaming Chair is on the floor at both our Sydney and Melbourne showrooms, next to the office Embody and the Aeron so you can compare all three.
